VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Lena M. Ferguson, 80, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (June 25, 1968) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. Born Sept. 15, 1887 in Knox County, she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Sheppard Messel. She was married to George Ferguson in Vincennes, April 29, 1903. Surviving are three-daughters, Mrs. Myra Harper of Danville, Ill., Mrs. Naomi Rutkowski of Georgetown, Ill., and Mrs. Mildred Woodworth of Indianapolis; a son, Herb of Veedersburg, 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, nine sons and a daughter. Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington, with burial in the Catholic cemetery there. The rosary will be recited at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Don Vernon in charge. VEEDERSBURG – Mrs. Lena Ferguson, 89, died late Tuesday night in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She was born in Knox County, Sept. 15, 1878, a daughter of Robert and Mary (Shepherd) Messel. She married George Ferguson April 29, 1894. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myra Harper of Danville, Ill., Mrs. Naomi Rutkowski of Georgetown, Ill., and Mrs. Mildred Woodworth of Indianapolis; a son, Herbert of Veedersburg; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, nine sons and a daughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Covington with Rev. Don Vernon officiating. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery at Covington. Friends may call at the Parham Funeral Home at Veedersburg after 2 p.m. today. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 this evening. – jlr
